Item 1

This is a rare chance to own Laughing Sam’s first record. For those of you who still have turntables, this 7 inch, long play (33-1/3 rpm) vinyl record is a collector’s item. Even Peter Framton has a copy. (I gave it to him myself!) Only 500 copies were pressed. There are only 60 left. But, don’t let me convince you to buy it; here is what Bruce Pilato the record reviewer wrote in a NY newspaper in 1983:

I may be missing the point entirely, however, this is easily the best garage record I’ve heard in a long, long time. Recorded at home and playing most of the instruments himself, Dias has put together a collection of songs that defy classification and are interestingly bizarre. Don’t expect super slick production or fancy studio tricks, cause you won’t find them here…that stuff would just get in the way. It sounds a little like Phil Spector. Approach with caution. (This record review was done along with: Modern English, Missing Persons, Ozzy Osbourne, Musical Youth, George Winston, The Wind and Dr. Demento). Get your piece of Ricky D history. Buy one today! Songs included on this EP are: Ask A Million Questions, Storm's Abrewin' and Android Love (Is It Really True?). You can check out a new updated (and shortened version) of Android Love on the new CD, Don't X Me Out. Or check out the MP3 version on the MP3 page of this site.
